The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances. His focus is on robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. These multitaskers are a great choice for those who want to get mopping off their to-do list. They feature impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance, and they can even wash and refill their own mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that can also mop, this is the model you should go for. It's smaller than other options on this list making it easier to navigate through tight corners and under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best robot hoover navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.
It's extremely fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in one go. Its suction motor of 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the double side brush assists in removing debris from corners.
The mopping performance, while still impressive, is not as effective. The mop rotates quickly and utilizes 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can be used to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys or books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tested. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and works well, but this is something that you'll need to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want a highly effective, versatile, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out your home, find furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and efficiently. This leads to an effective, consistent cleaning which is also relatively fast.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. They can reach corners and baseboards as well as other hard-to-reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to extend to the floor, close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and dry to eliminate odors and stop buildup.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction level and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can even choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
The device is costly, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to keep in mind that the device will incur periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For instance the brushroll should be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hrs, and the mop pads must be changed every three months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has a high rating on Amazon and includes a broad range of physical automation features. These include the power button that doubles as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that sends it back to its base station after finishing the cleaning process. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically empties the dustbin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or just want a cleaner home without spending hours doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life allow you to keep a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot automatic vacuum cleaner and mop and mop that is, it can do mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two modules that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module which is equipped with an elastomer pad. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming but it does mean you don't have to fret about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
Our test subjects found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature was its accurate map of your floorplan which it uses to create a route when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers that help to keep certain areas of your home from being scrubbed with mop.
We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able capture many of the hair that shed by our cats, and even got into some of the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots that vacuum and mop have struggled. The noise levels were low, and there were some lovely jingles that signal that it was in the process of finishing its work.
The app was too basic and you had to alter the modules every time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app can't save multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for a smart robot that can perform both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum cleaners best vacuum that can be found in our review, but it has some distinctive features that make it worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its huge dock, which doubles as a charging base and housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink and a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.
The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that let you manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more precise at finding objects.
The X1 can be prone to get stuck if it gets entangled in a hazard like a power cable draped over a rug. It won't function until you remove it manually. This is a rare event however it was frustrating since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert in its app.
Another potential downside is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't too bad apart from the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use and can cause mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. It's also a welcome sight for an industry dominated by boxy units.
