robots that vacuum and mop (visit your url)
Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills and stains) in one go without the need to change devices. They can also save space in comparison to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads from the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is easy, and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time. It comes with an entire dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly application that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are superb and the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only problem is that it is known to smash into objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning on the app will tell you precisely what the robot has done, where it is going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance jobs must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the tank automatically, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time, with the mop able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is simple to use and intuitive and lets you see every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. Unlike last year's model this one has two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power which allows it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic hoovers cleaners could miss.
Like the two other Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes a dual-camera that can identify objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its direction in a way that is automatic vacuum and mop robot and clean around them without stumbling.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching and only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child lock and a home-button that can bring the robot vacuum cleaner to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin auto-refills.
The only negative I discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to take the mount off for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery life and maintain your components. But you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control on this model which is a pity considering how well it performs otherwise.
