Diablo 4 Item Upgrades
Item upgrades allow players to raise the level of equippable items like weapons or armor, as well trinkets above a certain threshold. They can be done at any upgrader NPC with the appropriate currency.

The game should show more information on its compare interface on the upgrade, for example: "X stats gained, or X stats loss." This isn't practical to implement because of the complexity of the comparison process. There is simply not enough space to do it correctly within the UI.
A script that tests an item's upgrade requirements before allowing the item to be upgraded is an alternative solution. Upgrades to the highest level can be costly, especially when it comes to upgrading PvE gear.
