Berserker
Location
On a bridge to the right of the Autumn zone
Abilities
Berserker has four attacks, three of which are used in a sequence.
Upper Slices: Berserker enters a stance with both of his swords, then slices with both in front of him. The slices are at a height where they miss the player if they are on the ground. In his second phase, there is less starting lag for the attack.
Lower Swing: Berserker winds up with one sword, then swings it across the ground. In his second phase, there is less starting lag for the attack.
Overhead Slash: Berserker brings both swords together above his head, then unleashes a huge slash downward. In his first phase, this attack is always preceded by two other attacks, and in his second phase, by five. These attacks are equally likely to be either Upper Slices or Lower Swing. In his second phase, it can also be an independent attack, but it has a longer wind up.
- This attack can be countered, right before the slash.
Pinwheel Slash: Berserker leaps into the air, spinning his swords around him and bouncing toward the player. He will continue until he has hit the ground four times.
Strategy
The player can jump over Lower Swing and stay under Upper Slices, attacking all the while, then countering or dodging through the Overhead Slash at the end. This is a reliable way to deal damage while avoiding it yourself.
In countering or dodging Overhead Slash, it's better to be early than late. The attack deals much more damage, so one should focus on avoiding it much more.
To dodge Pinwheel Slash, run horizontally in one direction, then change when Berserker hits the ground.
