There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our first option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to get stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.
Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. It's also quiet and works when you're at work or at school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying dock, though. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad to a dry one in seconds.

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can also sweep floors. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
This mop and vacuum combination has a sleek, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba unit than the boxy models from the competitors. It's among our most appealing looking robot vacuum cleaner best vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).
It's also the only robot vacuum or mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite 100% foolproof during our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The automatic vacuum and mop cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home in accordance with how dirty they are.
If you have a bigger home, it is worth choosing a model that has zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice command. A stair mode can be useful if you have a number of furniture. For busy families recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off can be very beneficial.

It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying base that is washable.
The iRobot application is designed to guide you through a mapping run that collects data on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app also provides access to a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It has an impressive 8000 Pascal suction and clever combs for removing pet hair. And you can create a spot-clean that scours a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, but it is more likely to be stuck on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums that mop vacuums we've examined. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
