The i3+ does not have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or any other top rated robot vacuum-rated robots we test. It could be stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces, like hardwood and rug.
iRobot recommends that you tidy the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or other clutter it may encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the bin and filter clean so that they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+'s internal bin is filled or the battery is empty it goes back to its docking station and automatically empties its trash into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning robots where it left off. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and the most important feature of all -- it comes with a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the main sources of maintenance for any best value robot vacuum vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot with voice or via the app.
In our tests the i7+ performed quicker and more maneuverable than our second-placed model, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types, including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin that eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and to move around the room and sweep a specific space. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to speak commands to the i7+, such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world of vacuums that are cordless and look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model feels like an automobile. It's powerful and has features to replace a stand-up vacuum for many households however, it can also fit in well next to a coffee table or on a bookshelf where you can wave it around like the magic wand.
The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. It's enough time to vacuum a typical-sized home but not enough to reach every spot. (A second time generally works). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeable superior on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums, the 694 is an affordable model that's a good option for those who don't wish to spend too much on a robotic. It could pick up the majority of types of debris and sizes in our testing and often went over the same area many times to give a thorough clean.
