The upgrading of your items is a vital aspect of equipping your character. Upgrades boost damage to items and the ability to enchant.
They also offer rewards and upgrades. They can be purchased from the Blacksmith.
The upgrade items button is located on any item. Each recycled item upgrades adds a level to the upgrade gauge.
Weapons
When an item is upgraded, it will gain an initial damage bonus as well as an increase in the scaling factor that affects other stats. There are two Blacksmiths in the game who can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area and Smithing Master Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. Both require different upgrade materials: Smithing Stones for standard weapons and Somber Smithing Stones to alter the damage that a weapon inflicts.
Generally, it is recommended to upgrade weapon damage first, followed by armor defense, and finally the other secondary stats that are required by your build. In particular, it's common to see melee druids upgrade their weapon before any other gear, since this can increase DPS. This is particularly true for enchantments that can boost a weapon's stats and damage.
Armor
Item Upgrades let players enhance the stats of certain weapons, armors trinkets, trinkets, or gathering tools. Contrary to popular belief, armor in The Division 2 is not useful. The reality is that some armors provide significant increases in poison, curse, fire or magic damage reduction, which makes them invaluable for certain builds. Additionally, there are ways to boost armor stats beyond the use of upgradeable armor such as the engineer trait to boost armor penetration, or the challenger trait that reduces the weight of the entire armor.
Potion
A potion can be upgraded by putting it in an brewing stand in order to unlock new effects. The upgrade unlocks another level of effects from the potion and can be repeated to unlock more potencies.

This trinket requires a small amount of energy to upgrade.
This enchanted Scepter's magic seems to alter the dungeon's environment and increase the likelihood of generating grass and water. At its current level this trinket makes X% of the floors become filled with water or grass, but doesn't affect enchantments or glyphs, cursed weapons or armor, or items generated to aid in the elimination of hazards.
Although it appears to be an ordinary eye of a newt, this mysterious item appears to affect your vision in ways that go beyond just reducing your field view. At its current level this trinket increases the overall health benefits of drinking potions of healing, waterskins, and wells of health by X%. It also grants eyesight on enemies within the Y tiles. This is not a stacking feature with Heightened Senses.
After completing the Mastery Cave After completing the Mastery Cave, you will be able to find Trinkets by beating Monsters and inside chests and crates in Skull Cavern. They can't be found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.
Place the trinket in the Anvil whenever it is required to be upgraded. This will cause a random effect on the trinket either extending its lifespan or strengthening its effects. You can reorge an item as many times as you wish, however it will always have a different effect than the one that it had when you forged it.
You can also upgrade your Trinkets by placing them in a magical catalyst at the Alchemy Station. This will cost you 6 energy, but increase the power of the trinket by a small amount.
