World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.
For instance, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a boost in stats or an extra effect. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them. The item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as other items that are not ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for instancethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of the equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.
A boost upgrade item can change the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop or collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even in the event that they don't know how much it can be improved upon a reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be costly and it is likely that the item will be obsolete or even break if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also offer an additional bonus when they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible up to 15 levels.
You will often find in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the best method to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the many Glyphs and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.
Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, therefore it is best to put Glyphs in key places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For instance, a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs near their primary damage points, but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes too.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in crafting tables. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields a number of Technology Points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When an item is upgraded by a player it is replaced with a new item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This can be a downside since the item may increase in price even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrades. This causes the item to be exchanged for a new one, with an initial level and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This is useful for certain items, but it's not something that should be repeated often, as it can use up a lot of resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or does not swim as a dolphin). It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the maximum roll by 10 points. This item can be very valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.
Requirements
The ability to Upgrade Item items allows players to increase the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate currency and items to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal and also increase their strength and dexterity.
All items can be upgraded up to five times except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an item upgrader mod, it is given a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will result in the item reverting back to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.
If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. Additionally the item upgrader mod will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded receives a crit chance boost it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item may have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have an incredibly lower cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. Whatever the case, players must visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade will require a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
