GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete line of heavy- and medium-duty all-electric vehicles, including lower-floor and high-floor models. The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their flagship vehicle, and it is able to be adapted to suit a wide range of applications. The design of the platform is based on a simple sheet of paper, which allows for optimum positioning of the battery pack and a lower center-of-gravity. This leads to better payload/range ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX was developed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. The class 4 refrigerated trucks with a single wall structure inside, and higher insulation than conventional trucks, allows for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer service life. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior cargo capacity and an industry-leading payload to range for zero-emission transport of passengers or goods.
greenpower electric scooters has joined forces with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system, which will allow fleets to seamlessly move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star is also capable of wireless charging up to 75 kW.
We were capable of testing the EV9 on an unpaved highway for several hours, and found it to be simple to drive and electric scooter green comfortable to drive for long distances. The EV9 can block road noise and wind while driving along the highway. It rides smoothly over bumps and ruts. The acceleration is quite fast and the car has adjustable regenerative braking that allows "one pedal driving" by simply lifting the accelerator.
The EV9 provides a large range and can be charged within three hours or less at home, or with any commercial charger. The driver can select from two operating modes - eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode is a great way to increase the mobility power as well as cruise control and handling, while sport mode increases speed. Both are a lot of fun to drive and offer an experience unlike any other for those who have never driven an electric vehicle before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicle offerings including a multi-purpose all-electric mini bus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used for scooter Green power executive shuttles, microtransit or transit vanpools, buses, or paratransit vehicles.
GreenPower produces approximately 10 EV Star buses per month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their older diesel vehicles fleet with 100 electric cars. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify schools across the nation, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA certified. This makes them eligible for federal transit grants.
