Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes that boost its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item level upgrade in their inventory and access the kiln.
Items with weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into a stronger base. Items with strong bases, like the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus, or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot from enemies, or gotten from chests or missions. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they are upgraded.
To upgrade an item of armor, the player has to select it and then click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade statistics and the required component or materials.
There are three types: universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade item components that have a type limitation. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are exactly the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix to the end of item names. For instance adding a Glyph could transform a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools If a player replaces one glyph with another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component the item will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in some fundamental ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level up however the materials required do not increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a handful of key items and maximize their impact rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across multiple items.
This will enable the item to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It resets at 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to be given affixes that boost its attributes. The number of affixes available is contingent on the item's base type. For instance an uncommon or exclusive weapon with a base that is standard will have only two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade process requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item is at its current level and in what slot it is placed in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item upgrade fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse the item with a new set or upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials but will result in a lower chance of success.
To measure the height of a structure engineers employ an instrument to compare the measurement with a known reference point like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method guarantees that buildings are constructed to the highest level of accuracy and security.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can drastically enhance an item's strength or damage, as well as other attributes. You can do this through the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be done in very rare instances.
Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a comparable Best item upgrader. Recyclable items come with a gauge that shows the level of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.
In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats to your build more often than others. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each stat. This could be good or bad, based on what you're looking to get from your equipment.
Each upgraded item may also come with a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added to the standard affixes. The more you improve a product, the higher your chances of receiving an exclusive bonus.
The game also includes number set that grants the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an unit. This is an excellent method to add a lot of power to a particular character without spending a lot of money.
Many players reroll their weapons and gear, especially in the early stages. This is because rerolling can provide a much faster route to a more powerful character which allows them to achieve high tiers and progress the game much more quickly.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be arranged in different ways. They can have various dimensions, contain no elements at all, or contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or sorting information. They can also be useful in studying patterns. Sets can be classified in several ways, including by size and shape.
There are a variety of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, while some aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets that provide high defense values and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in improving stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade when your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already huge.
Some set items are upgraded to meet their own special functions, which can be particularly useful in some builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).
Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items to parity with the levels. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrading lower-level set items can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item's attributes and the items required to upgrade it. This will display the item's characteristics, as well as the required items to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
In general, armor and weapons have higher value when they are updated. Particularly for weapons with spell/weapon damage glyphs upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will give a substantial increase in their performance. This will also boost the defense of armor that has a newer appearance.
